The archive is a closed repository: nothing in it can be edited, by anyone, including administrators. Access is granted separately from workspace membership and every view is recorded.
A destruction clock schedules end-of-life, but nothing is destroyed without a human approving the disposition — and the approval itself becomes part of the audit trail.
