Understand GiDocHow GiDoc handles email
Connect a mailbox and correspondence becomes governed, searchable records — automatically.
Email is where commitments are made — and where they get lost. GiDoc connects to a mailbox (IMAP or Gmail) and captures every message and attachment into the repository.
Each captured mail is filed into an Email Space, classified against an email document model (sender, recipients, subject, dates as real typed fields), and its attachments can be extracted as documents in their own right — indexed and searchable like everything else.
From there, normal governance applies: route an invoice for approval, declare a contract confirmation as a record, or let retention schedules age correspondence out defensibly.
IMAP / Gmail mailbox connections
Auto-filing with typed email metadata
Attachments extracted as first-class documents
Same retention, audit and search as every other document
